I have been the CTO for 3 different fast growing SaaS. In each company we used Stripe. A big problem we ran across was the developers were making business decisions based on Stripe's default behavior. All of their code passed QA, and survived the first wave of customers. However, once the revenue started pouring in we had all sorts of problems with our Stripe account. Our failed payments were through the roof. We kept hitting edge case scenarios, and customers would be incorrectly billed. The only way to fix these problems was to deep dive into Stripe. I will take my failed lessons with Stripe and share them with you.
